Nottingham City Council Children’s Social Worker – Duty and Assessment Up to £32 per hour Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and resilient Children's Social Worker to join our busy Fieldwork team, specialising in Duty and Assessment. The Role You will be working within a core Duty Team structure that ensures a balance between immediate response and continuous case progression: * Duty Cycle: You will operate on a clear and structured one-week duty cycle, followed by three weeks dedicated to completing your work and assessments. * Assessment & Progression: You will work within a busy duty team environment, responsible for progressing all aspects of children's assessments from initial referral through to case conclusion or progression to longer-term teams. * Complex Casework: Your caseload will involve a diverse range of statutory work, specifically CIN (Child in Need), CP (Child Protection), and CLA (Children Looked After) cases. * Statutory Processes: A key part of the role will be taking cases to ICPC (Initial Child Protection Conference), undertaking Court work (including report writing and attendance), and presenting and progressing cases at LAC Reviews. Essential Requirements * PQE Mandate: All candidates must have a minimum of three years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) of direct employment in a permanent post within an English Local Authority, practicing in a child and family context. * Registration: Current and valid registration with Social Work England. * Experience: Proven ability to manage a busy, complex statutory caseload involving Child Protection and Court processes.
