The role
As a Principal Business Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes, helping to deliver transformational solutions that support the Royal Navy’s submarine maintenance capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of defence engineering, working on complex asset management systems that directly contribute to national security.
Day-to-day, you’ll be supporting the design, build and commissioning of docking and berthing facilities for Astute Class submarines. This role offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will drive innovation and shape the future of digital solutions in defence.
Responsibilities
* Leading large-scale transformation projects and delivering solutions across complex asset management systems
* Acting as Product Owner for key systems, aligning future vision with business objectives
* Delivering detailed requirements, solutions and functional specifications
* Modelling business information and producing system design documentation
* Collaborating with technical architecture teams to develop system architecture and documentation
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience
* Proven product ownership within agile delivery frameworks and experience with waterfall documentation
* Strong understanding of software solution architectures and system design
* Skilled in developing system models and using design tools
* Expertise in information knowledge management and mentoring others
Qualifications
* Degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience in complex system design

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
