The Vacancy

Annual salary of £50,000 (FTE)

Permanent role

Full-time (37 hours), part-time and flexible working patterns available

St Helens, Field based role working across the North West

The role

The Design & Technical Manager will lead Ecogee's retrofit and renewables design function across the North West, Yorkshire and beyond. Responsible for technical assurance, MCS compliance and Building Regulations (Parts A-S), the role ensures all projects meet PAS 2030/2035, TrustMark and CDM 2015 standards. Working with clients, Retrofit Coordinators and delivery teams, you'll drive design quality, innovation and value engineering across solar PV, ASHP and fabric upgrades. You'll oversee design governance, funding compliance and safety for SHDF, HUG and ECO4 programmes, ensuring fully compliant, efficient and auditable delivery from concept to completion.


The right fit

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Building Surveying, Construction Management, or Architectural Technology.
* Strong technical knowledge of retrofit and renewable energy systems, including solar PV, ASHP, and battery storage.
* Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams through the RIBA stages within construction, retrofit, or energy-efficiency sectors.
* Excellent knowledge of PAS 2030/2035, MCS certification, TrustMark, and Building Regulations (Parts A-S).
* Practical understanding of CDM 2015, design risk management, and HSE regulations.
* Experience delivering retrofit and renewables projects through SHDF, HUG or ECO funding programmes.
* Professional membership or working toward (CIOB, RIBA, CIAT, CIBSE or IET) is desirable.

Ecogee specialise in providing both retrofit and new build solutions that make homes more energy efficient. Our services include; fabric insulation, ventilation systems, and renewable technologies such as air source heat pumps and solar panels.

Originally established in 2012, we were set up in response to the Government's energy efficiency programme to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions.
