Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health System Navigator
Getting the right support shouldn't be complicated. This role is about making sure it isn't.
As an Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health System Navigator, you will be based within the Family Help front door in our Coventry Shine service, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to help people access the right support, at the right time, in the right place.
Responsibilities
* Review referrals and understand needs of children, young people and families.
* Guide families to appropriate emotional wellbeing or mental health support.
* Build trust through honest conversations and advocate where necessary.
* Collaborate across health, education, social care, and community services to improve system navigation.
* Provide insight, spot gaps and help shape delivery of support.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children, young people and families in health, education, social care or community setting.
* Experience supporting individuals with emotional wellbeing or mental health needs.
* Experience working across services or with other professionals.
* Confidence in signposting or navigating support.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and information sharing.
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
Desirable experience includes early help or CAMHS services, service improvement work, or knowledge of Coventry pathways. Training in trauma‑informed practice or motivational interviewing would support you but is not essential.
Person Specification
* Qualification in mental health or working with children & young people such as Diploma in Youth Work, Diploma in Social Work, Psychology degree, Counselling.
* One year's relevant post‑qualification experience.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Confident IT & data recording skills.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
* Willingness to work flexibly, evenings or weekends.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
