Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you care for by assisting with daily activities, monitoring health and safety, and fostering a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide patient care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism.
* Monitor vital signs and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior.
* Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals and assist with medication administration when required.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning and laundry.
* Engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Support clients in mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
* Document patient observations accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Requirements
* Experience in home health care, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
* First aid and CPR certification are highly desirable.
* Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is essential.
* Previous experience working in group homes or nursing homes is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
* Knowledge of caregiving practices related to memory care and hospice care is beneficial.
