Clerical Officer – Health Records
Play a key role in supporting effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients, medical and nursing staff at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
To ensure patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions are administered and processed accurately and that patients’ health records remain confidential, are securely stored and are available as and when necessary.
Provide efficient administrative, clerical and receptionist services. Maintain electronic and paper-based patient records systems providing confidential, accurate and up-to-date information. Maintain patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating of the patient management system.
Schedule and Term
* Post 1: 30 hours – Saturday & Sunday 08:00–17:30
* Post 2: 18 hours – Monday–Friday 16:00–22:00
Fixed-term position for 6 months, until 31/03/2026. Salary is pro rata for part-time hours.
Qualifications and Experience
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in 3 subjects, including English or equivalent.
* General administration and office experience/previous clerical experience desirable.
* Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience desirable.
* Prior experience of using a Patient Management System desirable; training will be provided.
Location
Initial base will be Smithhills Street / Royal Alexandra Hospital. The post may be moved to any location within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
