What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring the site runs safely and efficiently.
* Reduce downtime by driving effective maintenance and quick, coordinated breakdown response.
* Optimise plant performance and support production teams to hit site targets.
* Lead, coach and develop a talented engineering team.
* Oversee planned maintenance schedules and continuously improve engineering standards.
* Manage budgets, spares, and supplier relationships.
* Lead site projects and work closely with contractors and cross-functional teams.
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, quality standards, and audit requirements.
* Represent the business with utility providers and external bodies.
* Contribute as a key member of the site senior management team.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong engineering leadership experience (ideally food manufacturing/FMCG).
* Excellent communicator with proven team management and development skills.
* Confident in decision making, problem solving and driving improvements.
* Knowledge of SOPs, HACCP, Health & Safety, and quality systems.
* Competent with Microsoft Office and understanding of site assets and their impact.
* Ability to lead by example and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Relevant Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualifications.
* HACCP Level 4 & Food Safety Level 4.
* ILM Level 5 (or equivalent leadership training).
* Integrity Level 2 CPD (role‑relevant).
