Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant in the Stroke Team at Trafford Hospital. You will work as part of the Stroke Therapy team to assist registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists in providing therapeutic care and rehabilitation to stroke patients. An empathetic nature, excellent communication skills and previous experience in a healthcare setting are desirable.
You will also contribute to the weekend service and perform administrative tasks, equipment management, cleaning duties and general IT work. You should be able to work under direction of qualified therapists and confidently manage your own caseload, motivating patients to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
Main duties of the job
* Assist registered therapists in delivering high‑quality rehabilitation care and supporting discharges from hospital.
* Carry out treatment programmes directed by therapists and report back.
* Support therapists in delivering interventions with patients.
* Participate in multidisciplinary handovers and share information with the therapy team.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
* Motivate and encourage patients during therapy.
* Handle administrative tasks and equipment management, including note writing and data collection for audit.

* Recent experience working within an MDT
