Job Opportunity: Programmed Work Caretaker (Facilities & Environmental Health)\n 📍 Location: Floor 6, Brent Civic Centre, HA9 0FJ\n 🕗 Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM | 36 hours per week\n 💰 Pay Rate: £20.66 per hour (Umbrella)\n\nWe are seeking a reliable and proactive Programmed Work Caretaker to join a dynamic Estate Services Team within a public sector environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong sense of responsibility, practical cleaning and caretaking skills, and a commitment to community upkeep.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nEnsure all internal and external areas of council-managed housing estates are cleaned to the agreed standards and frequency.\n\nRemove bulky items and fly-tipping; carry out deep cleaning, including bin chambers and graffiti removal, or clean communal windows up to third floor.\n\nSafely operate and maintain council vehicles and cleaning equipment.\n\nWork flexibly across teams (Fly-tipping, Window Cleaning, or Deep Cleaning) as required.\n\nReport environmental issues, support efforts to prevent fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour, and engage positively with residents and partners.\n\nParticipate in training, service development, and cover as needed for absence or demand.\n\nRequirements:\n\nEssential:\n\nReasonable level of literacy and numeracy\n\nFull, valid UK driving licence\n\nUnderstanding of the social housing sector\n\nAwareness of COSHH and risk assessment health & safety requirements\n\nExperience with public-facing service delivery and basic cleaning tasks\n\nPhysically fit to carry out demanding tasks including lifting and use of industrial materials\n\nComfortable using mobile technology to record and report tasks\n\nExcellent teamwork and communication skills\n\nBasic DIY/handyperson skills (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing signage)\n\nDesirable:\n\nExperience working in housing or estate services\n\nExperience engaging with residents or tenants\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nCompetitive hourly pay\n\nA meaningful role maintaining community wellbeing and safety\n\nOpportunities to develop practical skills in a supportive team\n\nRegular weekday hours (occasional flexibility may be required)\n\nReady to get started?\n If you're hands-on, take pride in high standards, and enjoy making a visible difference in the community, we'd love to hear from you
