Our client is a manufacturing company who specialise in electronic manufacturing. They only use services accredited to certified quality standards and have an excellent team of dedicated staff to keep up their high standards of work. They are currently looking for a Production Technical Supervisor to join their busy and hardworking team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of PCB and electro-mechanical assembly processes and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a Production Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor. You will ensure that assembly teams meet production goals, quality standards and safety requirements. You will work closely with the Manufacturing Manager and other department leads to maintain a smooth production flow and drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
Demonstrable experience in a lead or supervisory role
Demonstrable experience in electronics manufacturing, with a focus on PCB or electro-mechanical assembly
Possess a strong understanding of SMT, through-hole and box-build assembly processes
Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics and bills of materials (BOMs)
Experience with ERP/MRP systems for work order management
Be computer literate, with basic understanding of common software
Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Have a strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Your duties as a Production Technical Supervisor would be:
Supervising day-to-day production activities for SMT, through-hole and electro-mechanical assembly lines
Maintaining production schedules, monitoring progress and ensuring timely completion of customer orders
Allocating work assignments, track work orders and adjusting priorities as needed
Verifying that assembly operations follow established procedures, work instructions and quality standards
Leading, training and motivating a team of production operators and technicians
Promoting teamwork, accountability and a positive work environment
Conducting daily start up meetings to communicate goals, schedule changes and quality expectations
Supporting employee development through coaching, cross-training and performance feedback
Ensuring products meet IPC-A-610 and customer-specific workmanship standards
Working with Quality and Engineering to address process issues, non-conformances and rework
Participating in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Maintaining accurate production records and ensure traceability documentation is complete
Identifying and reporting opportunities for process improvements, material flow optimization and waste reduction
Assisting in testing and validating new tools, fixtures or equipment for process enhancement
Maintaining a clean, organised and ESD-safe production area
Enforcing safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines
Conduct regular safety and equipment checks
Salary:
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience
