Swindon Town FC is seeking an experienced Head of Player Care to join the Academy. This role is essential in supporting players to reach their full potential both in football and in life.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Developing and implementing a Player Care programme for all players across the three phases of the Academy to provide the best possible care, support, and development, enabling players to maximize their potential on and off the pitch.
2. Designing, developing, and implementing a player induction process for newly registered players and supporting existing players through their progression within the pathway to ensure they are comfortable within our environment.
3. Creating a strategy to support player transitions through age groups, phase groups, player release, and progression from the Academy.
4. Developing and implementing a comprehensive Life Skills programme for all players across the three phases of the Academy, collaborating with internal and external specialist staff to ensure individual players develop skills and qualities to contribute positively to society.
5. Overseeing the Academy's Personal Development programme, including Individual Development Action Plans.
6. Engaging with parents/guardians through regular dialogue and supporting the Head of Education in developing and coordinating age-specific parent workshops across the Academy phases.
7. Supporting the Head of Safeguarding to ensure compliance and proper recruitment procedures for Host Families.
8. Leading all Player Care and Wellbeing matters during tours and trips, pre, during, and post-event.
9. Leading initiatives to give a voice to parents and players, ensuring their perspectives are heard within the Academy.
10. Attending weekly operational and phase-specific meetings, as well as external meetings organized by the Premier League and EFL.
11. Serving as the primary contact for the EFL/PL and relevant governing bodies regarding Player Care matters.
12. Supporting the DSO in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children across the player pathway.
13. Being present across all age groups to ensure players and parents know whom to approach with concerns.
14. Maintaining confidentiality of player information and adhering to professional standards.
15. Upholding a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
16. Designing, coordinating, and evaluating the Psychology programme.
About The Candidate
Qualifications & Experience:
* Undergraduate or postgraduate Psychology qualification (desirable).
* Teaching qualification (desirable).
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
* Must be a team player with a flexible approach to work.
