Overall Purpose

To support the smooth and professional running of the Club’s retail operation.

The postholder will act as a team leader for Retail Assistants, ensuring strong customer service, operational compliance, and a clean and well-merchandised retail environment.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

* Support the setup, running, and closing of the shop during the week, weekends and on matchdays.
* Supervise the tills, customer queues, and stock replenishment during opening hours.
* Maintain visual merchandising standards and assist with product displays.

Team Leadership

* Act as the first point of contact for Retail Assistants during shifts.
* Assist with induction and on-the-job training for new retail staff.
* Ensure staff follow customer service protocols, safety procedures, and uniform standards.

Customer Service

* Provide outstanding customer service and resolve any front-line issues or complaints in a timely manner.
* Always represent the Club in a positive and professional way.

Matchday Retail

* Take the lead in setting up and running the matchday retail operation, including float preparation, staffing, and close down.
* Monitor queues, stock levels, and staff deployment to maximise efficiency.

Brand Representation & Compliance

* Uphold the Club’s brand and ensure all products and communications adhere to merchandising standards.
* Escalate any concerns about counterfeit goods or breaches of Club branding to the Interim Retail Manager/Interim Head of Retail.

Stock Control, Deliveries & E-commerce

* Assist with managing deliveries, stock checks, inventory systems and product launches.
* Assist with the running of the e-commerce department, ensuring orders are processed efficiently.


Person Specification

Essential:

* Supervisory or team leadership experience.
* Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
* Reliable, confident, and approachable.
* Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.

Desirable:

* Experienced keyholder with shop opening and closing responsibilities.
* Knowledge of visual merchandising principles.
* Interest in football, sportswear, or fan engagement.
