Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Staffordshire based client to recruit for a Sourcing Manager.
Role
The role focuses on negotiation, relationship building, and sourcing new suppliers. The successful candidate will seek out and negotiate commercial and contract terms with new suppliers, while managing relationships with existing suppliers.
Key responsibilities
* Identify and evaluate new suppliers based in both the UK and internationally.
* Build long‑term supplier relationships to drive commercial advantage.
* Lead all negotiations across pricing, lead times, and payment terms.
* Define, monitor, and improve supplier KPIs.
* Manage supplier contracts, ensuring they are commercially sound.
* Work closely with colleagues across Procurement, Finance and Operations teams.
Skills and Experience required
* Strong negotiation experience.
* Commercial mindset.
* Comfortable meeting suppliers face‑to‑face.
* Proactive and driven, with a desire to succeed.
* Experience within a manufacturing environment, especially in sourcing metals, is particularly attractive.
