Lawyer Advocate\n\nLocation: Westgate Street, GL1 2TG\n\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nContract Duration: 6+ Months\n\nWorking Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week\n\nPay Rate: £ 43.12 per hour \n\nJob Ref: (phone number removed)\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProvide expert legal advice and advocacy services on matters related to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).\n\t\nRepresent Gloucestershire County Council in court and tribunal hearings.\n\t\nDraft and review legal documents, ensuring compliance with current legislation and policies.\n\t\nCollaborate with various departments within the council to provide comprehensive legal support.\n\t\nConduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and decision-making.\n\t\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments and best practices.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nQualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practicing certificate.\n\t\nExtensive experience in SEND law and advocacy.\n\t\nStrong communication and negotiation skills.\n\t\nProven ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.\n\t\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.\n\t\nMembership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIMA, CIPD) is desirable.\n\t\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nDISCLAIMER: By applying for this vacancy, you consent to your personal information being shared with our client and any relevant third parties we engage with, for the purpose of assessing your suitability for the role.
