Overview
Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, seeks a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer specialising in Assembly and Integration. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in producing and assembling missiles. This contract opportunity may lead to a permanent position or an extension. The role is full-time with a hybrid work schedule - in Bolton.
Responsibilities
* Compile and update manufacturing instructions.
* Design, commission, and test the associated tooling.
* Assist in the industrial validation process using tools such as FMEAs and FAIs.
* Resolve technical problems during manufacturing and update route cards to reflect changes due to re-works.
* Ensure proper configuration control by incorporating design modifications into manufacturing instructions.
* Support the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.
What you need
* Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 with a formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
* Alternatively, a BEng degree in a relevant engineering field.
* Alternatively, a minimum of twenty years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer.
* Knowledge to interpret design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators.
* Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds and expertise in the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a diverse team and to read, analyze and interpret documents for accuracy and compliance with Code.
* Effective collaboration, customer understanding, and prompt response are crucial.
* Understand and work with Company Processes and Procedures.
* Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training and SAP experience are highly desirable.
