Job Purpose Identify and project manage small, medium and large scale projects from conception through to delivery to transform the Engineering Function to align with the company’s strategic goals To continuously identify areas of opportunity within our organization and product creation processes. Establish and lead cross-functional workstreams to deliver transformation projects from inception to implementation, before handing to the process team for operational management. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Work with the Engineering LT to develop the roadmap for the future transformation of the Engineering function, in the short, medium and long term Set the priorities and put in place action plans based on Engineering’s strategic goals Set the framework and governance/cadence within which all engineering functional transformation projects should be planned, executed and delivered Establish and lead cross-functional workstreams to deliver transformation projects from inception to implementation, before handing to the process team for operational management Ensure appropriate processes are in place for the smooth hand over of projects to the identified process team Champion Engineering transformation projects across the Engineering Function and wider business (including the Executive Team) Continually review the product creation process to identify improvement areas that align with the Engineering strategy but all the wider business strategy. Identify weak areas of AML Engineering process & organization and establish and lead (cross functional) transformation workstreams. Lead roll-out and communication strategies for process and organization updates and embed into the process team for operational management Provide a good practice advisory service to the Engineering LT to support on all matters relating to the functional transformation area to support decision making Strive to achieve and deliver industry best practice through benchmarking analysis, where necessary working with consultant teams. Support CTO in creation & rollout of Engineering strategies Design Engineering organisation structure strategies, working closely with the Heads of Engineering Functions, CTO and HR to enable best practice delivery Experience and Qualifications Essential Previous experience essential to undertake this role: Large scale project management from conception through to delivery Strategy development / rollout Whole vehicle or complex system programme coordination / management experience Extensive knowledge of product development / creation systems Proven complex planning capability Proven leadership skills Proven leadership of complex concern/issue resolution Budget development & ownership Engineering/facilities standard generation Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications Preferred: Experience in the part/software release process Complex financial / resource forecasting / tracking experience Skills and Behvaiours Strong foundation in engineering Strong teamwork & collaboration skillset, self-motivated & able to work with minimal supervision.
