About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences

Work closely with a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team

Build trusting relationships with pupils and families

Create a classroom environment that is calm, joyful, and responsive

Use creativity, flexibility, and empathy to help children thrive

Requirements

We are looking for someone who brings both professional skill and genuine warmth. You will need:

Essential

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience working with children with special educational needs and/or complex learning profiles

A strong understanding of inclusive, child‑centred practice

The ability to adapt teaching approaches creatively and responsively

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Patience, resilience, and a positive, nurturing approach

Desirable

Experience in a specialist setting

Knowledge of sensory integration, communication approaches, or therapeutic strategies

Training in areas such as Makaton, PECS, Team Teach, or similar

Confidence in working with external professionals and families

A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
