Overview
Congleton High School (CHS), a member of The Learning Partnership Trust, is a rural school located in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. CHS is seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated DT Technician to work with the Design & Technology department. The role includes supporting the Design & Technology curriculum across all areas, preparing resources and equipment for lessons, maintaining workshop machinery, and assisting with health and safety duties.
Hours: 37 hours per week (full-time, 5 days per week, 8:00–16:00, 40-minute lunch). There is also a second post: 2 x 20 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed for right candidates). Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days). Closing date: Monday 13 October 2025.

Responsibilities
* Provide support for the Design & Technology Department across all areas of the curriculum, including preparation of resources and equipment for lessons (hard materials: woods, metals and plastics).
* Set up, use and maintenance of workshop equipment and machinery; assist with ordering supplies.
* Assist the head of faculty with COSHH and risk assessments for the technology area.
* Provide food technology support where required, including food preparation assistance, practical lesson support, safe use of cooking equipment, equipment cleaning, and health and safety reporting.
* Support students and staff in workshops; contribute to student learning, development and progress in the DT curriculum.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience working in an educational environment is advantageous.
* Knowledge of basic engineering and/or mechanics and/or food technology is highly advantageous.
* Competence in the set-up, use and maintenance of workshop equipment and machinery.
