Salary
Hourly rate £15.78p – £16.97 plus shift allowance on top of this
Shift Pattern
Week 1: Mon–Thu 6 am–2:15 pm, Fri 6 am–1 pm. Week 2: Mon–Wed 2 pm–12 am, Thu 2 pm–11:30 pm.
Role Summary
Working closely as part of the machine shop manufacturing team to produce high‑quality machined products supporting assembly and tubing functions. Set and operate CNC machines to enable the production of various sizes, lengths and specifications for critical industries including biopharma, medical, water, food and special processing.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate equipment in Watson‑Marlow Limited Machine shop (Falmouth) to ensure all products are supplied efficiently, on time, in full and to the required quality specifications.
- Work with operators to maximise machine utilisation.
- Promote good Environmental Health and Safety processes throughout the machine shop.
- Collaborate with the production team to deliver required components on schedule.
- Use knowledge to improve best practice.
- Maintain equipment to exceed customer expectations via Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and early fault diagnosis.
- Support the TPM team during their activities.
- Support the Global Excellence in Manufacturing (GEM / Lean) process.
- Support the company’s values and 5S activities within the workshop.
- Proactively work with the team leader and technicians for personal development.
- Use and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support business continuity.
- Support the quality team on Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).
Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment based within a machine shop.
- Relevant engineering qualification and/or suitable demonstrated experience in CNC turning.
- A keen eye for detail and a willingness to utilise all available resources to drive process improvement.
- The ability to work with others to achieve team goals.
- Willingness to mentor and train apprentices and operators to improve their skill set and understanding of machining.
