About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of infrastructure and utilities projects within a highly regulated environment.
This opportunity is ideally suited to candidates with 2–3 years of project experience, including Assistant Project Managers looking to further develop their career within a supportive and experienced PM team.
The successful candidate will support front-end project delivery activities, stakeholder engagement, governance processes, and contract administration across a varied portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of project scopes, option appraisals, studies, and business case documentation.
* Coordinate technical, commercial, and stakeholder inputs to support delivery-ready project definitions.
* Maintain project plans, progress reports, risk registers, and action trackers.
* Assist in organising and facilitating stakeholder meetings and workshops.
* Record stakeholder requirements, actions, and decisions to ensure alignment and traceability.
* Prepare reports and supporting information for governance boards, investment reviews, and steering groups.
* Support contract administration activities and assist Project Managers with commercial processes.
* Assist with change management, compensation events, and project controls activities.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams within a regulated environment.
Key Requirements
Essential
* 2–3 years’ experience within a project management, consultancy, engineering, or construction environment.
* Experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects; utilities experience preferred.
* Understanding of project controls, contracts, and change management processes.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of project cost/value management.
* Ability to work effectively within complex or regulated environments.
* Strong organisational and IT skills.
* Flexible and proactive approach to project delivery.
Desirable
* Knowledge or exposure to Primavera P6.
* Experience using CEMAR or similar contract management systems.
* Previous experience working within collaborative delivery environments.
* Working towards or interested in pursuing APM or similar project management qualifications.
