Section Engineer - Peterhead

Role Overview
The Section Engineer will lead a defined portion of the early-works programme, managing engineering teams and overseeing construction quality, planning, and documentation. This role will ensure technical accuracy and efficient delivery of earthworks, drainage and road-infrastructure packages across a large transmission-hub development.
Key Responsibilities
Manage engineering delivery for a defined section (earthworks, drainage, fencing or internal roads).
Lead and mentor Site Engineers and engineering support staff.
Oversee setting-out strategy, survey management and quality-control processes.
Develop and manage RAMS, ITPs, quality records and technical documentation.
Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and specifications.
Take responsibility for short-term programming, resource allocation, method planning and sequencing.
Manage interface points between earthworks, drainage and road-construction packages.
Conduct technical reviews, raise RFIs, and liaise with design teams as required.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations, environmental commitments and project governance.
Assist with commercial duties including quantity tracking, variations and progress reporting.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Demonstrable experience as a Section Engineer on major civil-engineering projects.
Strong understanding of mass earthworks, drainage networks, road construction and temporary works processes.
Ability to coordinate multiple work fronts and manage engineering teams.
Competent with GPS, Total Station equipment, digital setting-out and design interpretation.
EUSR Category 1 & 2 (or willingness to obtain).
CSCS card (Engineer/Technical).
HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
Desirable
Experience on energy-sector or transmission-infrastructure projects.
Understanding of NEC contract administration.
Temporary Works Supervisor ticket advantageous
