Job Description
We are currently recruiting for the following graduate positions:
- Graduate Mechanical Designer
- Graduate Composite Designer
- Graduate Structural Analysis Engineer
Purpose of the Graduate Programme
Our graduate programme is designed to fast-track the development of engineering talent, empowering new graduates with the tools, experience, and environment to thrive in Formula One. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge design and manufacturing techniques, support real projects from day one, and grow your career within a highly technical and collaborative environment.
Graduate Mechanical Designer
Focus: Mechanical Component Design
Key Responsibilities:
· Design of mechanical components and small assemblies.
· Take ownership of assigned design projects and communicate progress and risks.
· Generate manufacturing documentation including materials, techniques, and quality requirements.
· Support the wider design team in meeting overall delivery targets.
Preferred Skills:
· Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
· Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and materials.
· Ability to communicate clearly and meet challenging deadlines.
· Proficiency in IT tools including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Graduate Composite Designer
Focus: Composite Component and Tooling Design
Key Responsibilities:
· Create CAD models and drawings of composite components and tooling.
· Generate accurate and complete composites manufacturing information.
· Liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure successful delivery of designs.
Preferred Skills:
· Degree in Engineering or similar discipline.
· Experience with CAD (preferably CATIA 3DX).
· Understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
· Ability to manage personal deadlines and work under pressure.
Graduate Structural Analysis Engineer
Focus: Structural analysis and optimisations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform structural analysis using both finite element methods and conventional hand calculations.
· Produce structural analysis reports to support design developments from concept to end of product life cycle.
· Conduct structural optimisations on both metallic and composite components to achieve the best mass efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
· Experience in structural analysis, numerical modelling and optimisations.
· Knowledge of composite materials, metals, or additive manufacturing.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant discipline (Automotive, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, or Materials Science)
- Ideal for candidates with a degree and up to 2 years' experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
