Temporary Quantity Surveyor
Location: Site-based / Hybrid
Contract: Temporary / Contract 2 days a week
Rate: Competitive (DOE)
Duration: Project-based (3–12 months)
The Role
We are recruiting a Temporary Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of water treatment works construction projects. Working on the contractor side, you will play a key role in cost control, valuations, and subcontract management across live infrastructure schemes.
Projects may include new build, refurbishment, and upgrade works within a regulated water environment, covering civil, mechanical, electrical, and process elements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage project costs, budgets, and forecasts
* Prepare interim valuations and cost/value reports
* Measure works and value variations and change events
* Assess and process subcontractor applications for payment
* Support procurement and management of subcontract accounts
* Assist with final accounts and commercial close-out
* Work closely with site teams, engineers, and project managers
* Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction
* Contractor-side experience on utilities, water, or infrastructure projects
* Strong understanding of commercial and cost control processes
* Ability to work on live construction sites
* Excellent numerical and communication skills
Desirable:
* Experience on water or wastewater treatment works
* Familiarity with NEC forms of contract
* Background in civils, MEICA, or process plant construction
* Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar)
