Assistant Accountant – Grimsby – £30,000-£38,000
Chase & Holland are excited to be exclusively working alongside a fast-growing FMCG business, based in Grimsby who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for both the transformation and the day-to-day performance of the finance team providing accurate and timely financial reports to support decision making and financial control oversight of the Company.

Free parkingAssistant Accountant responsibilities will include:
Preparation of weekly flash and monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis
Assist with standard costs of products
Provide analysis and report on sales, margin, labour and overheads
Work with budget holders to provide robust budgets and forecasts and hold monthly budget review meetings
Ensure compliance with all relevant internal accounting standards and practices as well as regulatory rules and statutory obligations
Drive the continuous improvement of processes to improve efficiency and the control environment of the business
Oversee accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll, expenses and credit control
Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation
Oversee weekly cash management, approve weekly payables and assist with cashflow forecasting
Maintain fixed asset register
Manage invoice financing facility including preparation of month end reporting
Responsible for the year-end closing activities including audit and liaising with external accountants
Assist with the implementation of a new ERP Systems
Required Skills & Experience:
PQ CIMA/ACCA or a minimum AAT Qualified, with sound experience in a similar role, ideally in manufacturing
Previous experience in budgeting, forecasting and costings and analysis is an advantage
Able and willing to work at all levels of the finance team
High level of IT literacy and numeracy
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines with attention to detail
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
IT literate including ERP systems and Excel
Experience working with a range of senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
