As a Community Relationship Fundraiser, you'll represent Ashgate Hospice and engage our community throughout North Derbyshire to raise essential funds that enable us to deliver compassionate, specialist care.

Your passion, commitment and knowledge of the Hospice will inspire and attract new donors. You will drive and develop community fundraising initiatives and recruit and support a network of volunteers.

By building strong relationships with community groups, schools, businesses, and supporters and collaborating with the wider fundraising team you will create long-term givers to the Hospice.

This post will ensure that donors feel valued and are supported throughout their fundraising and understand the impact and importance their donations will make.

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours worked flexibly core hours Monday to Friday but there will be an expectation to work some hours during evenings and weekends. Time in Lieu will be allocated for any hours worked beyond the contracted 37.5 hours.

Key responsibilities:

* Deliver excellent supporter stewardship, ensuring that all donors receive personal acknowledgment of their support and that they understand the impact that their fundraising has
* Identify and attend high-footfall events with a visually appealing pitch and engaging offering  
* Engage schools in fundraising and inspire a young generation of fundraisers
* Offer bespoke support to maximise donor’s fundraising efforts and share regular updates to the difference their fundraising makes
* Analyse and grow income through community fundraising initiatives
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of charity legislation to ensure all fundraising activity complies with policies and procedures and also the legislative requirements of fundraising, including the Code of Fundraising Practice, Charity Commission requirements and the Charities Act.
* Promote the full range of fundraising initiatives, events and appeals and contribute to all fundraising income streams, i.e the Lottery, Events, Corporate Fundraising

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions. Last year, we cared for over 2,400 people. Our aim is to support our patients by keeping them informed, managing their symptoms, and improving their quality of life from diagnosis onwards.
