Bridge Darebin is on the lookout for a vibrant, hands-on Barista & Hospitality Trainer to join our dynamic training team.
This is not your average training job; you’ll be inspiring learners from diverse backgrounds to build confidence, master their craft, and launch careers in the bustling world of cafés, restaurants, and hospitality.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll lead fun, interactive training sessions that cover everything from perfecting a silky latte to delivering unforgettable customer service. Your days will be a blend of hands-on demonstrations, real-world mentoring, and guiding learners through essential hospitality practices.
Your role will include:
* Delivering practical workshops in barista skills, espresso extraction, milk texturing, latte art, and more
* Facilitating hospitality training in customer service, point-of-sale systems, food handling, and table service
* Creating and updating engaging training materials and session plans
* Supporting learners to build their confidence, skills, and job readiness
Who You Are:
You’re a coffee enthusiast with a strong hospitality background and a knack for training others. You thrive in hands-on environments, enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and believe in the power of skills-based learning to transform lives.
You’ll bring:
* 2+ years’ experience as a barista or café supervisor
* A solid understanding of specialty coffee, customer service, and front-of-house operations
* Experience in training, mentoring, or community education
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills
* A commitment to inclusive, learner centred education
Key Selection Criteria
* Proven experience as a barista and/or café supervisor (2+ years).
* Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, equipment maintenance, and customer service standards.
* Experience in delivering training or mentoring in a hospitality setting.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
* Ability to support and work well with learners who are neurodivergent and those from diverse backgrounds.
* Experience in teaching, facilitation, or other community education.
* Ability to work cooperatively within the workplace culture of Bridge Darebin.
