Cloud DevOps Engineer - AWS | Reading (hybrid)
Responsibilities
You’ll be part of the technical governance team of the Demo and Integration Team contributing to the Identity & Biometrics Solution Business Line (IBS BL) from Thales Digital Identity Security (DIS) Global Business Unit. You will be part of a large international programme working on security development across the aviation industry. You will help accelerate cloud transformation into private and public cloud environments and coordinate containerization efforts. The role includes hands-on implementation along with communication and knowledge sharing.
Please note: You will need to be able to obtain Security Clearance for this position.
Development Duties
* Lead the implementation and setup of Cloud technologies in collaboration with technical leaders of the engineering teams.
* Develop and set up automation tools (CI/CD) to support development/validation/integration and deployment of cloud solutions.
* Write guidelines, installation guides, documentation, and training materials to enable the engineering team to autonomous on these technologies.
Support Duties
* Train the engineering teams on cloud-based technologies and CI/CD tools to support the cloud transformation.
* Provide guidance during architecture definition (security audit, architecture design, pre-sales).
Communication Duties
* Liaise with other cloud engineers for cloud-based matters across IBS product lines, DIS BL, and corporate group (CCoE/CTO).
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in computer science or Information Technology related field.
* Experience of software development (server-side).
* Experience with deployment and maintenance of highly available solutions on AWS.
* Experience in system integration and deployment of cloud-based technology (IaaS, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, monitoring systems, authentication systems, repositories).
* Experience writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
* Experience with various database repository models (SQL, NoSQL, S3, NAS) as designer or administrator.
* Experience in large distributed systems with high availability and scalability (application server, message-broker service, streaming, load-balancing).
* Experience in network protocols (SOAP/REST, HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, WAF).
* Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code language, scripting, and CI/CD automation.
* Good knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and proficiency in at least one development language (Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, Go).
* AWS SAA or AWS SAP certification considered positively.

Security Clearance Statement
This role will require SC Clearance. If not currently held, the successful applicant will need to obtain, maintain, and/or upgrade SC Clearance.
