Lab Technician Food Science – Reading - £16.67 PH – 6 months
Working within a Food Services product development team, this role is responsible for carrying out practical work to support project managers in developing new products.
Responsibilities include:
1. Organizing workload effectively
2. Providing high-quality samples
3. Attending review meetings and project updates
4. Maintaining accurate records of practical work
5. Operating kitchen equipment competently
6. Following product formulations to produce bench-scale samples to a high standard
7. Supporting pilot plant and scale trials
8. Adhering to safety and quality standards, including risk assessments, SOPs, and COSHH
9. Maintaining general housekeeping in the development kitchen
10. Managing stock control and ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
Candidate requirements:
1. A degree in Food Science or a relevant scientific discipline
2. Attention to detail
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Practical experience in a development kitchen
5. Well-organized and capable of managing multiple activities concurrently
