I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This newly created, exciting role involves working with a high-performance global team. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and top clinical experts, within an organization known for its collaborative culture.
This is an individual sales contributor role, primarily remote, focusing on the UK/western European territory. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in this region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Achieving sales and business development targets and creating strategies for target markets.
2. Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs from qualified potential clients.
3. Using Salesforce to track client activities and update opportunities.
4. Managing the sales process from lead generation to closing.
5. Leading proposal development to align with client expectations.
6. Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
7. Providing marketing input to support business development.
8. Contributing to sales targets and strategies based on industry knowledge.
9. Supporting pre-sales activities with resources.
10. Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
11. Collaborating with research staff to leverage travel schedules for sales opportunities.
12. Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business.
