Technical Sales Specialist – Scotland – Industrial Electrical Control and Automation
Overview
We are seeking a technically competent Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager to join our client’s expanding team providing industrial control and automation products and solutions. This is a field‑based role visiting customer sites across Scotland, with 1 to 2 days per week in the office.
Location & Travel
Ideal location in the central belt (M8, Glasgow to Edinburgh corridor). Road travel required.
Role & Responsibilities
* Sell a range of high‑quality industrial automation products such as PLCs, Control Gear, Drives, Sensors, HMI, Process Instrumentation and explosion‑proof equipment to OEMs, end‑users, system integrators and panel builders.
* Achieve defined sales targets by managing and expanding an existing portfolio of accounts.
* Develop a personal plan to identify new business opportunities.
* Maintain clear communication, organisation and teamwork while exercising independence.
* Utilise Microsoft office packages effectively.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Sales and technical experience in the industrial automation industry with a proven track record of sales success.
* Formal qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline at ONC/HND level or above desirable (not essential).
* Strong sales ability and product knowledge; further career‑development training beneficial.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Good team player and autonomous worker.
* Access to personal vehicle and flexibility for travel.
