Day-to-Day Finance Operations
* Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, and purchase orders accurately and promptly
* Managing accounts payable (suppliers) and accounts receivable (clients)
* Preparing and posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Managing and reconciling multiple bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash
* Overseeing weekly and monthly payment runs
* Maintaining and updating records in ERP software / cloud accounting systems
Payroll and Compliance
* Assisting with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in wages, deductions, and statutory contributions
* Supporting PAYE, VAT, and CIS returns in line with HMRC deadlines
* Ensuring all financial processes are compliant with company policies and statutory requirements
Reporting and Analysis
* Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Producing financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports
* Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
* Monitoring company cash flow and reporting discrepancies or risks to the Finance Manager
Credit Control and Supplier Management
* Managing debtors, monitoring overdue invoices, and maintaining positive client relationships
* Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies
* Performing credit checks and maintaining credit limits
Audit and Month-End Support
* Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and audit documentation
* Supporting internal process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency
Teamwork and Collaboration
* Working closely with department heads across Cleaning, Facilities, and Construction divisions
* Supporting operations and project teams with financial insights and updates
* Providing ad-hoc reports and administrative support to management as required
What We're Looking For
* AAT Level 3/4, ACCA part-qualified, or equivalent experience
* Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
* Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or ERP software
* Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, CIS, and HMRC compliance
* Highly organised, accurate, and proactive
* Ability to multitask effectively and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A strong team player who can gel with colleagues, build relationships, and contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive finance team
* A problem solver with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and grow with the business
