Octavius Infrastructure's rail business is rapidly evolving with key contract awards across the country. We are delivering new infrastructure including stations, Access for All schemes, and renewals across the Wales & Western region. We are looking to enhance our engineering team by recruiting a Contractors Engineering Manager. The role involves supporting the Engineering & Assurance Lead, managing engineering resources, providing technical support, and ensuring project compliance. You will work in a hybrid model from home, site, and offices in Swindon and Bristol.

The purpose of the role includes:
* Supporting the Engineering & Assurance Lead to meet Network Rail standards.
* Implementing design and engineering management plans and providing technical assurance.
* Managing and developing a team of engineers.
* Providing technical support across project phases and managing temporary works.
* Participating in audit activities for assurance purposes.
Your responsibilities:
* Supporting project activities and maintaining engineering management plans.
* Ensuring competent engineering resources and managing design delivery.
* Assisting with risk management, commercial issues, and compliance.
* Reviewing design briefs, investigations, and temporary works.
* Mentoring engineers and sharing knowledge.

About you:
* Experience in delivering rail infrastructure projects, preferably with a background as a Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE).
* Knowledge of construction techniques across building, civils, and electrical works.
* Experience with temporary works, ProjectWise, and delivery procedures for highways and rail projects.
* Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and safety practices.
Your qualifications:
Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
Certifications like SMSTS, CDM regulations, Temporary Works Coordinator, LEAN, and behavioral safety training are advantageous.
