We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Interventions Teaching Assistant to work within secondary schools in Newport and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.

* Job Title: Interventions Teaching Assistant
* Location: Newport & surrounding areas
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm
* Pay: From £13.75 per hour
* Start Date: ASAP
* Sector: Secondary Education (Mainstream & ALN Support)
About the Role
As an Interventions Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and behavioural challenges within a mainstream secondary school setting.
You will play a key role in helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally, working closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver targeted interventions.
This role is ideal for someone who is:

Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ALN
* Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions
* Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
* Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Follow all safeguarding and child protection policies
* Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
* Adapt to changing classroom and pupil needs
Requirements
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:
* Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Hold a Child Workforce DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
* Provide 2 professional references covering the last 24 months
* Demonstrate resilience and confidence managing challenging behaviour
