This SEND Support Officer position is vital, you will work closely with the SENDCo to help deliver high-quality support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. This includes working directly with pupils and families, collaborating with external professionals, and empowering colleagues through training, guidance, and professional development.

Hours: 35 hours per week (Term time + INSET days)
Salary: L6 SCP 21-25 (FTE £32,115 - £35,235)
As a SEND Support Officer in this specialist Luton school you will support members of the to build their confidence and expertise in working with learners with SEND, you will play a key role in embedding inclusive practices across all areas of school life.
Although this is a non-teaching position in Luton, it requires strong knowledge of SEND processes, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to build positive, professional relationships.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of pupils with SEND.
* Coordinating interventions and tracking progress against EHCP outcomes.
* Managing SEND records, ensuring compliance and oversight of statutory processes such as reviews.
* Acting as a point of contact for staff and external agencies on all SEND-related matters.
* Line managing Teaching Assistants, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality classroom support.
* Planning and delivering staff training, offering practical support and coaching to help others perform effectively.
* Building strong partnerships with families and incorporating pupil and parent voice into provision planning.
