Electrical HV Technician - Milton Keynes - EV Powertrains - £30k to £45k
The role is focussing on the Build and Development of EV Powertrains for the eVTOL Sector.
One of our key clients, a leading innovator in eVTOL and Aerospace technologies, is looking for a Electrical HV Technician to join their growing team in Buckinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge electric propulsion systems, prototype builds, and vehicle assembly within the rapidly evolving eVTOL sector.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role working on cutting-edge prototype systems, involving electrical integration, HV component testing, and collaborative development within a dynamic R&D environment.
Role: Mechanical Technician / Salary: £30k to £45k
Location: Buckinghamshire (Milton Keynes)
Working Arrangement: 5 days a week on site
Key Responsibilities:
 * Support the build, installation, and testing of HV electrical systems within eVTOL propulsion platforms.
 * Perform wiring, termination, and HV cable harnessing for propulsion and drivetrain systems.
 * Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs of HV components and electrical sub-systems.
 * Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers on prototype integration and validation.
 * Ensure HV safety protocols and isolation procedures are strictly followed in a lab/test environment.
 * Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD layouts for builds and modifications.
 * Perform routine maintenance and inspection of high-voltage equipment to ensure reliability and compliance.
 * Assist in the commissioning and functional testing of powertrains and electrical subsystems.
Key Skills & Experience:
 * Proven experience as an HV Electrical Technician, Electrical Fitter, or Test Technician in EV, automotive, aerospace, or eVTOL industries.
 * Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems, wiring standards, and electrical assembly practices.
 * Hands-on experience with HV battery packs, inverters, power distribution units (PDUs), and propulsion electronics.
 * Familiarity with HV safety practices, PPE use, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and insulation resistance testing.
 * Ability to interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
 * Experience in prototype builds, electrical integration, and collaborative R&D projects.
 * Certifications or training in HV safety, electrical testing, or aerospace/automotive standards are highly desirable.
