Role Overview
We are seeking an independent end-point assessor for the Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Maternity Support) (Level 3) apprenticeship.

Role Purpose
The EPA ensures apprentices meet the required standards, assessing their knowledge, skills, and behaviours to confirm they are fully job-ready and assessed consistently across all settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in regular training and standardisation activities
* Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing CPD
* Assess candidate performance according to published criteria
* Adhere to Pearson’s assessment and quality assurance protocols
* Respond promptly to EPA planning, operational activities, and reports
* Record and justify assessment outcomes accurately
* Support Pearson with appeals if necessary
* Manage travel arrangements for onsite assessments
* Report conflicts of interest and risks
* Contribute to continuous improvement and external quality assurance activities

Occupational Profile
Senior Healthcare Support Workers assist registered practitioners in delivering healthcare, performing clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision, in various settings, always acting within their competence.
Maternity Support Role
Support midwives in caring for women antenatally, during birth, and postnatally, aiding new parents with infant care and bonding.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
* Competent in maternity support
* Registered healthcare professional or Level 5 apprenticeship/qualification
* Working towards or hold a formal assessor qualification
* Recent healthcare experience (last 2 years)
* Experience leading meetings/interviews
* Knowledge of quality assurance/regulatory standards
* Commitment to CPD
* Current Enhanced DBS registered with the update service
Desirable Experience
* Internal quality assurance qualification
* Experience making grading judgments
* Knowledge of safeguarding and prevent
Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to respond to individual needs
* Technical knowledge of healthcare and maternity support roles
* Understanding of assessment instruments and standards
* Ability to assess impartially and report risks
