What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Production Team Leader / Supervisor
Background in Electrical manufacture /production
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Background in manufacturing or production environments
Solid understanding of health & safety, quality systems, and KPIs
Confident communicator with a hands-on leadership style
Lean manufacturing experience highly desirable
Concept are recruiting an experienced Production Team Leader to lead, motivate, and develop a team of production operatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility forSafety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) performance.
You will play a key role in meeting production targets, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining high operational standards while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Communication
Lead daily SQCDP meetings
Clearly communicate production targets, priorities, and expectations
Build strong relationships with customers and internal departments
Escalate issues promptly to the Production Manager
Health & Safety
Maintain a safe working environment through audits and risk assessments
Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring corrective actions are completed
Enforce safe systems of work and method statements
Conduct return-to-work interviews following absence
Quality
Investigate customer complaints and manage corrective actions within SLA targets
Ensure accurate data capture and reject logging within the QA system
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company and customer standards
Cost & Productivity
Monitor and control labour hours against production plans
Accurately record planned downtime and approve production hours via ERP
Drive productivity improvements through Lean, VA activity, and waste reduction
Delivery
Create and manage visual production plans aligned to customer demand
Ensure on-time delivery and proactively communicate potential delays
Coordinate with other departments to resolve production issues
People Management
Manage performance using QCD measures
Recognise and reward strong performance
Address performance and conduct issues in line with company procedures
Coach team members, set SMART objectives, and support development plans
Support onboarding, training, and skills development using the versatilitymatrix
Continuous Improvement
Engage teams in Kaizen, 5S, CI, and structured problem-solving activities
Support improvement projects focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
