Overview
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching staff to provide support for pupils' learning, welfare and personal development. You will help ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting individual and group work, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, including those with additional needs, to access learning.
* Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
* Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers.
* Promoting positive behaviour, independence and self-esteem.
* Establishing constructive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
* Contributing to the overall ethos and aims of the school.
Role Details
* We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our team in Key Stage 2 on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.
* NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent qualification/experience).
* Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
* Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and equality of opportunity.
* A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check against the Children’s barred list will be carried out on preferred candidates. Read our recruitment of ex-offenders policy.
