SEND Support Worker
Location: East Bristol
Contract: Full-time or part-time (term-time only)
Pay: From £14.25 per hour
About the Role
As a SEND Support Worker, you will work closely with pupils who have complex and profound needs. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
* Delivering sensitive 1:1 and small‑group support through multi‑sensory activities that engage sight, sound, touch, smell, and movement
* Assisting with personal care and daily living skills in a respectful, dignified, and responsive way
* Supporting communication using objects of reference, sensory cues, switches, eye‑pointing, and body language
* Implementing individual learning plans, EHCPs, and therapy programmes with a focus on sensory integration and meaningful engagement
* Promoting emotional well‑being through consistent routines, positive interactions, and responsive relationships
* Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider multi‑disciplinary team to create calm, nurturing learning experiences
About the Setting
You will be based in a specialist South Gloucestershire school and college for pupils with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning disabilities. The provision is known for a caring, aspirational ethos and a strong commitment to valuing every individual, motivating pupils to achieve their personal best, and providing a highly supportive learning environment tailored to complex needs.

* Some experience supporting individuals with SEND, particularly PMLD or SLD (paid, voluntary, or personal experience welcomed)

* A calm, consistent, and positive approach
* A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
