Description
We are working in partnership with a well-established, family-owned business operating within the agricultural machinery sector. Due to continued growth, our client is now seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead their on-site operations team and drive efficiency across their workshop and logistics functions.
This is a hands-on, highly visible leadership role ideally suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, practical environment and is confident managing people, processes, and priorities with clarity and energy.
The Role
This position will see you overseeing the full journey of machinery from goods-in to dispatch and aftersales. You’ll manage a capable team across workshop, yard, transport and triage while working closely with directors to maintain and improve operational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and motivating the Operations team (8 staff across yard, transport, workshop and triage)
* Managing machinery flow from arrival to dispatch, including scheduling, triage and photography
* Planning transport and logistics using subcontracted hauliers
* Overseeing parts ordering and supplier coordination
* Monitoring aftersales activities including final prep (PDI) and issue resolution
* Improving turnaround times, productivity and operational processes
* Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards
* Supporting facilities management and basic HR/performance discussions
Requirements
Background in agriculture, plant, engineering, or logistics (essential)
Experience in roles such as Parts Advisor, Workshop Supervisor, Service Manager or similar
Previous team leadership experience
Excellent communication and customer service skills – especially with farmers
Able to multitask, manage shifting priorities and maintain structured leadership
Tech-savvy enough to use tracking systems and scheduling tools
Highly organised, hands-on, and able to bring solutions – not problems

Salary- £45,000- £60,000 DOE
