Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, were enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Substation & Renewable Connections team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing?
As a Risk Manager youll work across all M Group contracts with our key clients in the transmission sector. Youll be instrumental in the embedding, evolution, facilitation and provision of expert support in the implementation of risk management practice, as well as providing analysis and assurance of risk registers.
Are you passionate about supporting the continuous improvement of the risk management process? Youll work within our Project Controls team and alongside our project delivery teams to ensure a consistent approach.
This role is hybrid so you must be in commutable distance to either our Newport or Solihull office. Site visits also required.
* Be accountable for risk management performance within the Business Unit, owning our risk database and project risk registers
* Maintain package risk registers through risk reviews, risk workshops and health checking, working collaboratively with the project teams
* Lead and coordinate effective risk management activities to actively reduce risk exposure and uncertainty on projects & programmes, providing critical friend challenge
* Ensure mitigations are SMART and are kept under review as to their effective and efficient performance to manage risk to required levels
* Provide support to the Head of Project Controls, Project Managers, and Project teams
* Liaise with our key clients to align with their specific risk requirements, deliver risk training for the risk processes and embed within the M Group team where applicable
* Responsible for the analysis and operational reporting of risks internally in M Group and externally to clients
* Support the delivery of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), embedding techniques and toolson all projects alongside the project teams.
* Support the development of new risk management processes, procedures and tools as part of continuous improvement and innovation.
* Support our work winning activities with the preparation of bids and proposals to secure new projects
What youll bring
* Experienced in leading the delivery of a structured approach to risk management within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects
* Proficient in QRA processes and its application on construction projects and possess a strong aptitude for schedule, Cost, Risk, Change management activities as well as analytical reporting
* Demonstrable experience in risk leadership, understands the need to adapt risk information to different audiences and can interact well with people across the organisation - able to build relationships internally within M Group and with clients
* Knowledge and experience of applying of risk management best practices, e.g.; ISO 31000
* Understand the risk contribution to the monthly reporting process
* Degree qualified or equivalent
* Formal Risk Management qualification (e.g. BA, MA, IRM Certificate / Diploma, APM Risk, or similar)
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IRM, ALARM, APM or similar)
* Full UK driving licence
