We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical or Electrical graduate to join our growing team at HPC. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to kick-start their career in Construction Management and to work as part of a historic Nuclear new build project within the UK. As an Intern, you will support the Overall Construction Manager (OCM) in preparing site activities, coordinating on-site operations, interfacing with internal and external partners, and managing subcontractors and partners.
This outstanding opportunity will give you hands-on experience with real-world projects, while enabling you to develop professional skills and build your resume, all under the mentorship and guidance of experienced professionals.
Main Responsibilities
1. Develop KPIs and tracking methods where needed.
2. Monitor the efficiency of erection activities: preparation, completion, punch listing, closeout, and turnover to commissioning.
3. Participate in daily and weekly meetings with site project stakeholders.
4. Support OCM in preparing mitigation plans to minimize impacts, NCRs, punch items, and forensic events.
5. Assist the Overall Construction Manager with data on overall progress, completed activities, forecasts, encountered problems, subcontractor performance, EHS reports, and quarterly construction reviews.
6. Assist the NCC Manager and Site Contract Manager as needed.
7. Familiarize with subcontractors to support the Construction department.
8. Ensure erection documentation is transmitted to subcontractors.
9. Coordinate supplier and STO site visits to monitor progress and remedial actions.
10. Participate in QC inspections.
11. Support OCM in coordination meetings and updating visual management tools.
Qualifications:
* Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Fluent in English.
* Strong communication skills across various formats.
* Logical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Desired Skills:
* Strong interest in the nuclear services industry and a desire to learn and grow in this field.
