Overview
The Regional Advisory Services Manager is responsible for leading a team of Financial Planners to deliver a broad range of Regulated Advisory Services to Progeny clients within a defined regional area. You will lead and manage a team across the Scotland and Northern England regions, and support the Head of Advisory Services to develop distribution plans that maximise growth opportunities in line with Board expectations. You will role model Progeny values and behaviours and act as a professional ambassador for the Progeny Group, ensuring new team members are supported and integrated into the team.
Location
This role can offer home-based working but will require some travel to regional teams and for departmental meetings. Travel to our offices in Edinburgh and Leeds may be required.
What you will do
* Leadership
* Lead a regional team of Financial Planners to deliver high quality advice services to Progeny Clients within budget and to agreed targets.
* Set and maintain high professional standards and conduct within the team, in line with the Progeny culture, policies and regulatory requirements.
* Drive the achievement of high performance through teamwork, regular communication, team meetings and contribution to departmental and strategic objectives.
* Serve as an inspiring, influential, and supportive leader, promoting a business culture that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse, highly talented team.
* Represent the Planner community internally and externally, developing a strong and compelling reputation for individuals and the regional team.
* Commercial Team Management
* Manage the commercial distribution of a full range of Progeny Services within regulatory requirements.
* Make effective use of data and MI to drive individual and team performance, promoting and harnessing all cross-selling opportunities.
* Lead the design and implementation of effective and agreed business plans for your regional team.
* Demonstrate the ability to share, develop and implement best practice.
* Facilitate, organise and implement a range of business development activities which deliver tangible improvements and positive client and business outcomes.
* People Development
* Drive the performance and development of team members, including setting clear expectations, providing feedback, celebrating success, agreeing objectives and key results, identifying skills gaps, and having regular, quality conversations, to build capability and promote continuous development.
* Support the embedding of skills and knowledge by following up with team members after formal learning events to encourage discussion, sharing and application of their learning, ensuring that the desired outcomes have been met.
* Demonstrate an inclusive approach to the development, wellbeing and support of individual team members.
* Make an active and effective contribution to the development and mentoring of new team members.
* Identify, share and implement best practice.
* Ensure team members reflect and represent the Progeny Brand to all clients.
* Set and maintain appropriate standards, managing performance and supporting development, and manage any performance issues in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Actively contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of Planner teams providing guidance and direction as appropriate.
* Governance
* Maintain high standards of personal and team performance across regulation, policy and brand expectations.
* Manage any variance in standards by team members and address any capability, misconduct and performance issues.
* Work collaboratively with other business areas to ensure that service standards are met and that agreed processes are followed by their teams
* Uphold and manage an agreed Risk Framework for the regional team.
* Attend and actively contribute to all necessary meetings and ensure individual and team completion of all mandatory training or remedial actions on time.
* Financial Control
* Work within agreed budgets and ensure that any financial objectives are achieved without compromising standards or the quality of client delivery.
About You
Essential criteria
* Specific experience of managing the distribution of products and/or professional services within Wealth Management
* Team management experience ideally of 10 or more individuals
* Strong experience of developing individuals at all stages of their career to form a high performing team
* Considerable understanding of business management and strong commercial acumen
* A strong and decisive leader with high levels of emotional intelligence and a passion for leading teams in the delivery of high-quality services
* Sound commercial experience and judgement
* Acts with professionalism, credibility and integrity
* Possesses strong communication and influencing skills
* Highly organised and able to work autonomously
* Collaborative and able to both lead and work with peers
* Able to demonstrate agility, flexibility and adaptability
* A strong team leader and manager, with the ability to positively influence experienced and highly qualified individuals
