Infrastructure Technical Architect
Role: Contract (Inside IR35)
Rate: £600+ per day
Location: Bridgend (100% onsite)
Duration: Until September 2026

We are supporting a secure, large-scale infrastructure transformation programme and is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Technical Architect to join a high-performing delivery team.
This role requires a strong blend of technical leadership, infrastructure architecture expertise, and hands-on implementation capability across enterprise environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions within a highly regulated environment.
What you'll be doing
Delivering and implementing infrastructure and technical solutions aligned to project requirements
Providing technical leadership and architectural governance across infrastructure delivery activities
Producing and maintaining Low Level Designs (LLDs), technical documentation, and Disaster Recovery plans
Supporting infrastructure change activity in line with established governance and operational processes
Working closely with delivery teams, operational support teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
Leading technical decision-making, risk mitigation, and best practice adoption across infrastructure services
Supporting project planning, estimations, and workflow management activities
Providing mentoring, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance to colleagues and support teams
Supporting backup administration, server patching, OS installations, and occasional out-of-hours change activities where required
What we're looking for
Proven experience as an Infrastructure Technical Architect or senior infrastructure specialist within enterprise environments
Strong hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies including VMware and Hyper-V
Extensive experience with Windows Server environments (2008 onwards)
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability
Experience delivering infrastructure implementation and technical project work within secure or complex environments
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure Local solutions
Experience with infrastructure documentation, governance, and operational support best practices
Knowledge or experience of Ansible scripting for Windows server build automation
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
Additional information
Candidates must hold active SC Clearance and NPPV3 Clearance
This role is 100% onsite
