Main duties of the job

As a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP), you will:

* Provide full assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions to children, young people, and their families experiencing mental health difficulties.
* Manage your own caseload from referral to discharge, carrying out routine and urgent assessments and interventions with autonomy.
* Liaise with colleagues and other agencies, offering advice, information, and consultation to support joined-up care.
* Contribute to service governance activities, including research and audit where appropriate.
* Provide consultation, joint work, training, and advice to other professionals to promote the best outcomes for children and young people.

Were an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve peoples physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

Person specification Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience Essential criteria

* Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the BPS where applicable
* Demonstrate study at masters level
* Understand the range of behavioural change models including health belief models to synthesise best practice in the absence of a strong evidence base, or existence of clinical practice guidelines within Childrens services
* First degree in Psychology

Skills and Aptitude Essential criteria

* Understand how to analyse and appraise key theoretical concepts of psychological models of treatment both at individual and group level recognised in evidence-based national guidelines
