The Role

We are looking for a passionate, talented and organised Teacher of Physical Education to join our faculty from September 2026.

As a state of the art new school completed in 2018, we pride ourselves on our excellent sports facilities linked to the Sports Box leisure centre which is located directly next to the school site. These facilities include a sportshall, dance studios, fitness gym, 3 x 3G football pitches, 2 x MUGAs for netball and tennis, grass pitches for rugby and football and a full size athletics stadium.

Our Teacher of Physical Education will be an inspirational teacher with a proven track record of leading students to achieve outstanding results, who embraces creativity, innovation and is always looking for the very best practice in teaching. They will share the School's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve at high levels.

We are a Google school, with regular CPD specifically on new software and applications to enhance learning and systems designed to reduce paperwork and administration.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (IN ADDITION TO TEACHERS’ STANDARDS)

Teaching and Learning

9. To teach PE within the age range 11-18 and to deliver a second subject at KS3 if required
10. To contribute to the design of programmes of study and to take responsibility for lesson planning
11. To ensure that all pupils are making good or outstanding progress in PE and to intervene effectively if students are at risk of underachieving
12. To contribute to CPD across the school where appropriate and share best practice via collaborative planning and following an 'open door' teaching policy
13. To ensure that the classroom presents a stimulating environment through the display of student's work and other exemplar materials
14. To extend the curriculum via supporting relevant trips, organising exciting visits from relevant speakers and visitors and leading enrichment programmes
15. To contribute to the extra-curricular and enrichment activities of the school, running at least 3 additional activities per week
16. To support project led learning, which links to the world of work, further, and higher education, primary school liaison or the local community
17. To deploy other adults effectively involving them, where appropriate, in the planning and management of student learning
18. To lead and run PE activities outside of the curriculum including sports day and fixtures with other schools
19. To be a tutor if required

Progress and Attainment

20. To ensure assessment, feedback and monitoring is SMART, accurate and clearly moves students’ learning on across all teachers within the faculty
21. To standardise marking with colleagues both within the School and with partner schools
22. To rigorously analyse student data to inform planning and intervention programmes
23. To attend internal and external meetings as required
24. To feedback to students and parents / carers in line with the School policy

Behaviour and Safety

25. To collaborate closely with parents to ensure that they are aware of their child's progress, engaged in their development and in supporting them in their vision for the future
26. To ensure the safety of all students on and off site
27. To model and enforce excellent standards of behaviour within and beyond the faculty
28. To monitor students’ achievement, attendance, uniform, punctuality and behaviour and to respond promptly to issues in line with the school’s policies

School Improvement

29. To support the School’s marketing and recruitment plan through attending events, contributing to marketing materials and via frequent high quality interactions with feeder primary schools
30. To embody the School’s values both on and off site
31. To monitor allocated budgets and ensure value for money at all times
32. To coach and mentor colleagues as appropriate
