To our People & Communication team, we are now seeking Director, Workforce Development & Strategy. In this role, you will lead a global team responsible for ensuring effective strategies to develop, advance and retain our workforce — locally and globally through global talent management, career development and learning, and compensation and total rewards. The role is part of the global People & Communication management team and plays a key role in shaping TGS for the future, making us able to enable energy for all by unlocking vital, data‑driven solutions and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
* Enterprise workforce planning: Ownership of long‑range workforce planning aligned to business strategy, growth priorities, and transformation initiatives (e.g., new markets, digitalization, energy transition), and establish global frameworks and guardrails for talent, learning, and total rewards while enabling local market flexibility.
* Executive advisory role: Acts as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on workforce risks, capability gaps, succession readiness, and reward trade‑offs, and prepares workforce, talent, and reward insights for executive leadership and governance forums.
* Talent Management Programs: Implements frameworks and programs to retain and develop workforce and next generation of leaders, including career framework, succession planning, as well as internship and talent attraction programs.
* Compensation & Total Rewards Strategy: Oversee global compensation and benefits programs—from competitive benchmarking and internal impact analysis to cost modeling and implementation - and ensuring compliance with labor, compensation, and benefits regulations across jurisdictions.
* Learning & Development: Lead the team to implement career development and learning strategies and programs to advance global workforce in critical skills and capabilities, and support employee growth and development, both in leadership and commerciality as well as targeted areas such as offshore operations, geosciences, and technology
* Collaboration & Leadership: Build strategic, long‑term partnerships with internal clients and deliver services across all business units and foster an inclusive, high‑trust team culture across geographies and time zones
* Technology & Efficiency: Ensure programs and strategies implemented effectively utilize technology and innovation both within the People & Communications organization and wider company
Key Competencies
* Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
* 7-10 years of experience in HR or client-facing business roles with deep exposure to development workforce strategies and programs related to compensation, benefits, talent management, recruitment and retention, learning and development, business partnership, leadership development, culture transformation, and/or change management.
* Proven experience managing international teams in a fast‑paced environment.
* Leadership: Experienced in building and empowering high‑performing international teams and fostering an inclusive, high‑trust team culture.
* Executive communication & influence: Able to navigate complex stakeholder environments, challenge constructively, and communicate clearly with senior leaders across cultures.
* Change Management: Skilled at leading change in complex environments and navigating group dynamics with confidence.
* Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Drives performance by ensuring effective People & Culture processes that balance cost control with competitive positioning. Stays current on industry trends related to compensation, benefits, and workforce strategy.
* Innovation: Comfortable challenging the status quo, improving existing systems, and introducing smart, scalable solutions.
* Analytics: Brings strong financial insight and analytical skills to support informed decision‑making.
* Knowledge & Experience: Strong technical and strategic understanding of compensation and benefits systems—especially on a global basis – and development of multi‑faceted talent management and learning and development programs.
