We have a unique, caring, and inclusive team responsible for the care of Children and Young People from 5 days to 18 years old across Hampshire. Our department features a 4-bedded High Dependency Unit and 22 inpatient beds. We have close links with our Paediatric Assessment Unit, Neonatal Unit, Children's Outpatient Department, Paediatric A&E, and Children's Community Nursing Teams, as well as our regional Children's Hospital in Southampton. We promote strong interdepartmental and cross-site working relationships with Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital.
You will be keen to promote clinical excellence as part of a highly motivated team. Open to newly qualified applicants. Please note, adult-trained nurses will not be shortlisted.
With minimal supervision, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, recognizing individual patient needs.
* To ensure religious, emotional, and psychological support for patients and families.
* To give and receive adequate and appropriate handover reports related to patient care, ensuring staff have up-to-date knowledge of the patient's condition for appropriate nursing care.
* To participate in setting and maintaining standards of patient care based on sound research findings.
* In consultation with the team leader, be adaptable in patient allocation to meet changing needs of patients and staff.
* Provide legible and comprehensive patient records in accordance with Trust and NMC standards and guidelines.
* To liaise with the Team Leader on untoward incidents, complaints, and staff issues.
* To act in accordance with trust policies and nursing procedures.
