First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Construction Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the construction team to deliver projects safely, right first time, on time, and to the planned cost
2. Direct line management responsibility for a team of Site Managers
3. Responsible for the performance of tier 2 suppliers about Safety, Quality and Time
4. Responsible for CDM Principal Contractor Role (delegated from alliance partner)
5. Review and ensure compliance with the Construction Phase Plan
6. Ensure compliance with Environmental legislation and policies
7. Ensure RAMS are appropriate and adequate
8. Involvement with Constructability reviews and joint sign-off with the Project Delivery Manager (PDM)
9. Focus on efficient working practices to drive cost and time reductions on-site
10. Understand overall business risks and work with PDM to manage risks and conflicting demands
11. Drive a focus on zero waste and reducing embodied carbon within construction activities
12. Ensure the construction teams are focussed on Internal and External customer requirements so to minimise the impact of our works on Customers and Anglian Waters ODI measures.
13. Ensure that the site teams are raising the relevant contractual and commercial notices to the rest of the Project Team promptly.
Skills and Qualifications:
14. Experience in managing operational resources in a construction environment
15. Excellent communication, people, and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and mentor
16. Good working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting.
17. Experienced in acting as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations
18. Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance
19. Water Industry construction experience
20. Full UK driving licence

Location: Peterborough
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 Per annum
