Overview
As an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, delivery, and support of complex engineering systems. This is a dynamic opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, contributing to innovative solutions in a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.
Our client’s Nuclear business covers decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants. The role focuses on cleaning up the nuclear legacy and contributing to energy security and net zero commitments. Our highly skilled team tackles major defence, decommissioning, new build and nuclear generation projects and has won a large share of recent tenders. We are committed to advancing nuclear safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across the nuclear energy lifecycle.
Day to day, you could be creating cutting-edge designs, leading on project delivery or providing solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities
* Develop and verify technical solutions in line with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
* Investigate technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement and design optimisation
* Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to define requirements and ensure successful delivery
* Support project execution across design, testing, installation, and commissioning phases
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where required
* Contribute to a strong culture of engineering excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field
* Professional registration (e.g. Chartered Engineer) or working towards accreditation is desirable
Essential Skills
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
* Exposure to installation, testing, or commissioning environments
* Background in electrical, control systems, instrumentation, or related engineering disciplines
* Understanding of control systems and electronic (analogue and/or digital) principles
Desired Skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Willingness to travel to sites or support on-site activities when required
* Ability to meet any applicable compliance or regulatory requirements
Experience
* Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams across a range of projects
* Experience contributing to system design, integration, or support activities
